Filament Choir

Filament Choir meets in Hoxton every Monday evening from 7pm-9pm. A non-auditioned group, it is an inclusive company of singers and enthusiasts, professional and non-professional, interested in exploring choral singing and movement.

Our aim is to use voice (and body) to make sound, learn some easy and more challenging tunes, check in with vocal practice and musicianship. We want to ensure that money is never a barrier to taking part, so please contact info@filament-theatre.com for all information on how to join.

MORE ABOUT WHAT WE DO: We use vocal improvisations as part of our warm up each week and our repertoire includes a healthy diet of choral music from different places alongside Filament original material and songs arranged by Osnat. We occasionally make work which is more akin to our theatre practice, with Osnat leading on choral singing and Sabina on choral movement. Recent performances have included, ‘Sing in the Summer’ at Southbank Centre, ‘On the Origin of the Pieces’ with Steve Pretty at Wilton’s Music Hall, and as part of the Filament Company for ‘Earth Makes No Sound’ at UCL East.

During the pandemic, we filmed some of our work for digital festivals and other online platforms. You can watch Feather Game and Plastic Tide which by clicking the links (both part of Cubbitt Digital Festival 2020) and Rivington Pike, whose making was supported by Postcode Neighbourhood Trust,  a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
